My chrome trim was in pretty good condition but with the years of wear, it was never that shiny of some of it a little surface scratch which you can never really get out. And now I have all that nice new chrome on the handles and pillars I needed to do something about the trim around the gutter and at the bottom of the rear quarter window and door top. Today i collected the parts from the chroming company and they are looking pretty good. Now time to get them fitted before Christmas!

Its been a while since i did some work on the Opel as the weather has not been ideal for car work and I have been sorting out some bits to be chromed. Today the weather was not too bad so I fitted a wheel arch time and hopefully next week I should get the door handles and C post supports back from chroming so then I can get those fitted and finish off fitting all the other trim. The plan is to do this over the next few months and be ready for March/April time to be back on…

Its was a nice dray afternoon today, so time to fit the sunroof!

I had the front screen all ready to go and as the weather warmed up this afternoon I though it would be a good time to get the screen installed. I also picked up the satin black 2K paint for the sunroof today so hopefully I can get some paint on that over the weekend.  

As the weather was so nice today and the clocks have not gone back yet, I decided to make the most of it and fit the rear screen. I had a brand new rubber from ATZ in Germany. Amie gave me a hand to hold the screen in place while I pulled the lip around the inner with the old string technique! It went in nice and easy which was a relief 🙂

I had a chance to do a bit more on the car today and have the wings fitted and the indicators in place. I just need to get some bulbs and that’s the front end sorted. I will fit the bumper after I have flatted and polished the front.

Now everything is all painted, its time to fit the panels back on again. Today I fitted the bonnet and over the next couple of days it will be on with the doors and then the wings.

Today i started to fit some of the parts back onto the car. The middle grill section is in place and I fitted the nice new rear lights that I have had stored away for ages and the new rear turn lenses that I got from Opel GT Source went on and look great. Time to get some nice new bulbs for them.
