Chrome trim time

Its been a while since i did some work on the Opel as the weather has not been ideal for car work and I have been sorting out some bits to be chromed. Today the weather was not too bad so I fitted a wheel arch time and hopefully next week I should get the door handles and C post supports back from chroming so then I can get those fitted and finish off fitting all the other trim. The plan is to do this over the next few months and be ready for March/April time to be back on…

Front screen fitted

I had the front screen all ready to go and as the weather warmed up this afternoon I though it would be a good time to get the screen installed. I also picked up the satin black 2K paint for the sunroof today so hopefully I can get some paint on that over the weekend.

Rear screen fitted

As the weather was so nice today and the clocks have not gone back yet, I decided to make the most of it and fit the rear screen. I had a brand new rubber from ATZ in Germany. Amie gave me a hand to hold the screen in place while I pulled the lip around the inner with the old string technique! It went in nice and easy which was a relief 🙂

Front end nearly finished!

I had a chance to do a bit more on the car today and have the wings fitted and the indicators in place. I just need to get some bulbs and that’s the front end sorted. I will fit the bumper after I have flatted and polished the front.

Time to fit some parts!

Today i started to fit some of the parts back onto the car. The middle grill section is in place and I fitted the nice new rear lights that I have had stored away for ages and the new rear turn lenses that I got from Opel GT Source went on and look great. Time to get some nice new bulbs for them.

Trying for perfection!

As the nose cone came out so good it has made me take a second look at the other panels and I have ended up repainting the wings and boot lid to try and get a similar finish. And I think they have come out pretty good. I have also found that even when you think something is spot on its not until you blow a coat of the red over it do you see any imperfections that you missed so the bonnet has had a quick coat with some paint I have left over from the wings which really…
