OOH, New Seats!

Although the Cobra Dayton seats were super comfortable and did everything I needed, I decided it was time for a change and something a little different, so I want for something a little bit more old school! Sticking with Cobra’s I went with the Cobra Le Mans Reclining Sport Seat. These again are super comfortable but a bit slimmer, they don’t have the harness slots but have headrests so I can slide the belts through these and keep the same sort of feel it just looks a bit more old school ford now 🙂 Being a slimmer seat it gives…

Getting ready for the new seats!!

The new seats arrived yesterday, so it was time to give the interior a little bit of love before I put the seats in. So I totally stripped the interior and gave it a good clean and hover and then started adding everything back in, nice new mats fitted as well!. Tomorrow its time to fit the rearview mirror, door handles, chrome trim around the inside lock and then the new seats and back in with the seatbelts. That will be the interior all finished! After that its paint!!

Some goodies from Opel GT Source!

Now we are all up and running with the Opel its time to finish the interior off and then start to work on the body. I did the interior a long time ago so it does not need too much doing but I did find some nice new parts on the Opel GT Source site that I just had to have! New door handles and a nice new rearview mirror arrived last week along with some NEW rear split lenses that they have started to have remanufactured! so these will go perfectly with the new set of inner lights that…

FULL INTERIOR CLEAN

The plan is to slowly build up the head and finish off the motor so its ready around the end of March/start of April, when the weather should be better and i can plan the time in to get it all fitted and started up properly. So that leaves me with a bit of time to get the interior totally sorted out. As the weather has been good this weekend and the sun is out (after the last few snowy days!) i thought it would be a good idea to removed the interior and give it a good clean. So…

Time for the interior to get some TLC!

I have spent so much time on the outside of the car i thought is im getting closer to getting her back on the road it was about time i did a bit of a clean up on the interior. Luckily, before i took the car off the road i had the rear seat recovered to match the front Recaro’s and sorted the head lining and got the interior all up to scratch. So it was more of giving it a good clean inside. I had been saving a new piece of plastic for the dash pod so i took…

Time for a tidy up of the wiring!

With this nice mild weather over the Christmas holidays, i thought it would be a good time to tidy up the wiring as i now have the new twin fans all hooked up and i wanted to get the little engine bay vent fan properly connected up so it will run with the twin fans or i can switch on manually to help with cooling if sat in traffic and there have been a couple of spare wires that needed tracing and removing since the swap to the bluetooth music controller. I have also taken to opportunity to add a…

Period radio or New?

That was a question i kept asking myself. But as the car was way off being finished i never look into it too much. But as we are getting closer i thought it best to do some looking into it. The fits and looks just right as it the twin spindle one which fits the original hole, but its always been rubbish, even when new!! Its only the radio that has been any good. So i looked into trying to get it adapted for an audio input, but no luck. I looked at new “Old style” but they just don’t…

FOOT DOWN, LETS GO!

Now the winter has finally passed and the nights are longer is full speed and back on the project again 🙂 While i wait for the crank to come back i have a few other things to keep me busy! Today i had a full day on the Opel and as the weather was nice and dry i managed to get quite a lot done. When i removed the engine and box to give that the check over i noticed that the torque tube doughnut looked like it had a crack, and on further investigation noticed it was totally shot! so…
